first crack.

I believe in breakfast.

Few things are as nourishing to the soul--or at least mine-- than waking up to the smell of freshly brewed coffee and bacon frying. In my opinion, the dreamiest breakfast includes coffee, orange juice, bacon, eggs and pancakes. Fluffy, melt in your mouth, enrobed in syrup, pancakes.

On a perfect morning I like to linger over my meal with a well worn paperback. The day can wait. I allow sleepiness to dissolve in my steaming coffee cup, open the windows in the kitchen, let the sun and fresh morning air spill in. Ahhh, breakfast.

But, that's not the only way to approach the first meal of your day.
The formula behind what arrangement of which components provide a satisfying and worthy first meal will vary considerably depending on who you talk to.
Therefore, it is my mission, through this blog, to explore every inch of what makes breakfast, breakfast. There will be homemade attempts which will surely result in mishaps and masterpieces. There will be legwork throughout the city of Los Angeles and beyond. There will be splurge brunches. There will be a hunt for the city's best diners. There will be curbside breakfasts beside food trucks. And, by god, there will be pictures.
This is not the blog of a professional chef. This is the exploration of a seasoned food enthusiast living in West Hollywood with a taste for travel.  ....and maple syrup.
Some come with me on this adventure.
Breakfast.

by, break an egg.
